Ed Hardy shoes come in all different designs and materials. The most recent designs are placed on canvas material, which is very similar to the well known Converse style. While these are extremely comfortable and great to wear around the town with your friends, they can be extremely difficult to clean.
The problem with canvas style Ed Hardy shoes, they are designed to be worn for every day purposes, which can mean in wet and muddy conditions. This can cause them to become very dirty and scuffed around the edges. It is important to clean them regularly so that they constantly look as good as new. However, you should learn how to do this correctly so that you do not ruin the material or cause the design to crack and fade.
If you know that you are going to have some extremely stubborn stains on your Ed Hardy shoes then you should consider putting them in the washing machine. The machine will not damage them and will remove all the dirt – depending on what the stain is. However, you will need to ensure that you let the shoes air dry and do not put them in the tumble drying. This will cause the material to start to crack and will cause the shoes to fall apart much quicker than they originally would have done.
You should always ensure that the shoe laces are removed before cleaning them; this will ensure that you can get into all parts of the Ed Hardy shoes. The harder parts at the bottom of your sneakers will be much easier to get back to normal. These are usually superficial scuffs, which you will be able to remove using an eraser. You will need to do this in circular patterns so that you can get into the material; it is not always smooth.
If you are not going to use a washing machine or the stains are not going to be that stubborn, it is possible to do it all by hand. This will take a little more time, however. You will need to start by filling up a bowl with some warm water. If it is too hot, it will damage the canvas however too cold will not remove the stains.
Add some laundry detergent to a toothbrush that you no longer need to use. Dip the brush into the water and then use it to scrub away the stains. This could be useful after putting the shoes through the washing machine if you still find that there are some stains on there. You will need to keep scrubbing until you find that all of the stains have disappeared.
You will now need to remove all of the detergent from the toothbrush and get a fresh bowl of warm water. Using a damp cloth, you need to remove all of the remaining laundry detergent from the Ed Hardy shoes. The excess detergent could cause stains on the canvas or could ruin it. You will need to wait for the shoes to dry naturally before you put the laces back in.
